A gigantic breaded Cutlet, the top of the line Veal Parmigiana could be cut with a fork, it lived up to the server's promise!!

This little gem of a restaurant in South Philly should be called Vissi D'Arte et Victuals of HighNote Cafe

The crisp fried calamari with one of the finest, slightly chunky, home-made marinara sauce this side of Nonna's Kitchen!!!

For couples who think "opera is cool", a "great date place" is this "intimate" Italian Rest. in a South Philly rowhouse attached to a same-named corner pizzeria; "in between waiting on tables", seemingly everyone on the "wonderful staff" joins in the musical "fun", and ya know, they're a bunch of "great singers" - oh, and the food is "pleasant."

Zagat Survey 1997-98-99-00 to 2010

When discussing Italian cuisine, most would agree South Philly is where you find the best in the city.  Among the finest is Franco & Luigi's.  Their classic pasta dishes, seafood entrees, and pizza (BEST BET: Mario Lanza) are all outstanding.  Yet it isn't just the delicious fare that has loyalists returning and telling friends and family.  It has a charming old-world decor, and a most festive atmosphere.  On most evenings, the vocally gifted staff belt out operatic tunes what would make even the Three Tenors envious.  It's about as good a time as you will have at a restaurant.

Our sincerest thanks to Franco for making "Joe's Surprise Birthday Party" the great success that it was. We can't thank you enough for the wonderful time that was had by all. Since then, we have received many responses from our guests telling us that the food was exceptional and the ambience was great As usual, the cuisine was absolutely perfect The hot and cold hors d'oeuvres were a hit with everyone and the dinner selections were outstanding.

We also can't forget how beautifully the servers sang that day, how entertaining Uncle Ray was on the piano, and how wonderfully efficient the servers were as they managed to work around us as we socialized. Dining at Francos HighNote  has always been special for us, as though we are with family, and now we have such warm memories to look back on. Thank you again for making this special occasion so wonderfully memorable.
